BECTROL and IES Synergy partner up to transform North American EV charging solutions

Québec-based BECTROL and France-based IES Synergy have announced a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionising electric vehicle (EV) fast charging technology.

Building on a decade-long relationship, this collaboration looks to supercharge the North American EV landscape and advance EV infrastructure.

Why the collaboration?

The BECTROL and IES Synergy partnership involves BECTROL integrating, certifying, and commercialising IES’s KEYWATT charging products (180 kW), specifically designed for the requirements of the North American market.

This collaboration leverages IES Synergy’s advanced engineering technologies in EV charging, coupled with BECTROL’s experience in manufacturing and certifying products for the North American market under UL and CSA certifications.

The joint venture aims to shape the future of mobility by producing locally made, high-quality fast chargers, enhancing the speed, reliability, and accessibility of electric vehicle charging across North America.

With this initiative, BECTROL becomes the second fast charging station manufacturer in Canada and the first in the 120-200 kW range.

Progress of the partnership

Production is underway, with Bectrol initially slated to manufacture over 1,000 chargers annually, signalling a significant scale-up in EV charging infrastructure. The goal is to more than double this output within the next 12-24 months, emphasising a commitment to electrifying North America’s roads.

The partnership prioritises quality and reliability, with IES Synergy’s “renowned” standards embedded in every unit for an “unrivaled” charging experience.

BECTROL ensures comprehensive aftermarket support, including monitoring services and maintenance, to guarantee peak performance and longevity, reflecting a dedication to customer satisfaction and product sustainability.

Looking ahead, BECTROL and IES Synergy envision continuous joint innovation, working on developing new charging solutions to advance EV charging technology. The collaboration invites others to join this journey.
